About me and this Big Life

So you wanna know a little about me?  Let's see....Hmmmm....what would you want to know?

I DON'T like coffee.  I could live on Diet Coke tho! :)  Oh and chocolate!  So while many others would say "grab a cup of coffee and sit and chat" - I say "grab a can of pop and let's talk!" :)

I am married to a great man.  God truly blessed me with him.  Rod is organized, a man of few words, and great with everything "techie" (that is what he does for a living and went to school for)...so basically the opposite of me in many ways.
Isn't he handsome?  My 6'4"hunk!
We are the parents of Jared and Maggie.  Jared was born in 2004 after quite a few infertility type treatments and we consider him a miracle direct from God.  He right now is in 1st grade.  He loves Legos, Star Wars, climbing trees, and he just loves people and has a real sensitive heart.  Maggie was born in 2005 and another miracle from God.  In 2/09 she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma - a pediatric cancer of the nervous system.  She is cancer free and if you would like you can check out her Caringbridge site check this out and see all of the many miracles that God did.  I discontinued that site and hope to never have to put a new entry there EVER!  Maggie will be in Kindergarten the fall of 2011 and loves preschool, princesses, jewelry and doing her hair.
Aren't they cute?  And not fighting for this split second!

Hmmm....what else?

Before having kids, I was a "mental health counselor".  I worked with tons of needy kids and their families.  I love the institution of marriage and - in conjunction with that -  family.  So some of what I write about is marriage and family related. :)

I love to bake, like to cook, and to try my hand at creative projects.  I know a little about many things - just enough to make me dangerous!  I am a big Colts fan - especially since Joseph Addai and Coach Caldwell came to see Maggie in the hospital.

I love Jesus!  I am in awe of how much He loves me.  I consider myself a work in progress - just like my house! :)  God is so faithful despite me and what I bring to the equation.  I've learned a lot about the kind of faith that God wants us to have in Him....the hard way.  It inspired me to increase my faith in what God wants to do FOR each of us and IN each of us.  So that is how this blog got it's name: Big Faith to Big Lives.

Excuse my squinty eyes!
